My name is Stephen Etter, and I’m the owner of Always Be Farming. I’ve spent more than 20 years working across technology, process improvement, project and program management, systems implementation, and marketing operations.

I started Always Be Farming to make professional websites and practical digital support more accessible to local businesses, without the complexity and cost of a traditional agency.

My background

Technology has always been about solving real problems.

My career has centered on understanding how people and organizations work, identifying what slows them down, and putting practical technology and processes in place to make things better.

On one recent WordPress project, the site had become unreliable and difficult to maintain on its existing hosting. I moved it to a new cloud environment, reconnected the content and database, fixed links, DNS, and SSL, tested the live site, and got it running cleanly again in the new setup.

I’ve worked across healthcare, community programs, and technology-driven initiatives where the solution had to work in everyday use. That same mindset is what I bring to Always Be Farming.

How that experience shows up in the work

On a typical project, I start by finding the point that is slowing the business down or confusing the customer. Then I simplify the process, build or connect the right technology, test the important steps, and leave the owner with something that is easier to manage day to day.

Hands-on digital experience

That can include WordPress, domains and DNS, forms, CRM and email platforms, integrations, automation, marketing support, and ongoing website maintenance.

Why Always Be Farming

Small businesses deserve digital support that fits the way they actually work.

Many local business owners don’t need a complicated digital strategy or a large agency relationship. They need a website that looks professional, works well on a phone, explains what they do, builds trust, and makes it easy for customers to take the next step.

Always Be Farming is built around that need: practical recommendations, straightforward pricing, direct communication, and support that fits the business instead of forcing the business into a package it doesn’t need.

The idea behind the business

Why is it called Always Be Farming?

For me, the name is about steady growth. Good business comes from continually planting ideas, tending relationships, improving what already works, and giving customers another reason to come back.

My Mission

Make it easier for local businesses to build a professional online presence through affordable websites, practical marketing support, and straightforward technology help.

What the name means

A website launch is not the end of the work. Businesses keep changing, customers need reminders, and opportunities have to be cultivated over time. Always Be Farming is a reminder to keep improving and keep creating the next opportunity.

How I work

Practical work. Clear communication. One point of contact.

The same approach I’ve used throughout my technology career carries into Always Be Farming: understand the need first, keep the plan practical, communicate clearly, and make sure the end result works for the people using it.

Straightforward

Clear communication, understandable recommendations, and no unnecessary complexity. You should know what you’re paying for and why it matters.

Practical

I focus on what helps the business: better visibility, stronger credibility, easier customer contact, and technology that is manageable after launch.

Personal

You work directly with me. That keeps communication simple, decisions faster, and the work tied closely to what the business actually needs.
